Kathy Mattone
Kathy is a wife and mother by vocation, a nurse and educator by profession and a chaplain/spiritual director by the grace of God. She has worked for over 35 years in many aspects of parish ministry and health care. A call later in life, led to spiritual care and synthesized her desire to bring healing to God’s people in body, mind, and spirit. As the Synod Coordinator for the diocese of Lexington, Kathy was blessed to hear the joys and lament of people across the Lexington diocese. Participation in the regional, national, and continental phase of the Synod afforded her the gift of hearing Catholic voices across North America. After living for eighteen months in Denmark, Kathy has been humbled by the experience of being the immigrant. Currently she looks for ways to speak truth to power, to serve those on the margins, to amplify the voices of women in ministry and to companion the people of God on their journey through the sacred space of life.
