Peggy Holthaus
Peggy Holthaus has always been a seeker. Questioning, inner reflection, and meaningful conversations have long been part of her spiritual journey.
For nearly three decades, Peggy has had the privilege of accompanying others as both a hospice chaplain (27 years) and a spiritual director (30 years). Holding sacred space, listening deeply to people’s stories, facilitating inner exploration, and witnessing the growth of the human spirit are at the heart of her vocation. She approaches this work with deep reverence and gratitude, considering it a profound honor to walk alongside others on their spiritual paths.
Peggy also finds great joy in creating and facilitating rituals, ceremonies, and retreat experiences that invite participants into deeper reflection and encounter with the sacred.
Contemplative prayer has become a cornerstone of Peggy’s own spiritual life because it centers on simply being with God. Rooted in listening and resting in the Divine Presence, this way of praying embraces solitude, silence, and stillness. It offers a gentle invitation to slow down, receive rather than strive, and attend to the subtle movements of the heart and the quiet whisper of God’s voice within. Through this contemplative practice, Peggy continues to be formed by love and is inspired to embody that presence in her daily life.
